CAITLYN deidre O'SHEA
[/B]full name Caitlyn Deidre O'Shea[/i] the cold, high voice screamed after said Gryffindor, as he thundered up the stairs of his so-called home, "come down here right now! The guests will be arriving any minute, and we simply won't have you showing us up tonight!" Walburga Black, Sirius' mother, was at her wit's end. She was, as usual, growing increasingly less patient with the eldest of her two sons, and not for the first time wishing he could be more like his little brother. Regulus had turned out to be such a fine, proud boy; a good, strong young man whom she could entrust to carry on the noble, ancient traditions of the house of Black. Sirius, however... well, she just didn't understand where she'd gone wrong.
nicknames Caitie, Cait
age 17
year Junior
sexual orientation Heterosexual
personality Just like your average, stereotypical teenager, Caitie is all about the parties. Cait loves to be loud and in-your-face. She loves being the centre of attention, and when she walks in all eyes have got to be on her. Cait's never had trouble with being shy or nervous around someone new, and she's quick to make new friends. The girl prides herself on the ability to find common ground with pretty much anyone she meets, and loves to find out new things about people. More than anything, though, she loves drinking and dancing, and just having fun any way possible. That, of course, can make her pretty reckless at times, and Caitlyn always seems to get a kick out of irritating dangerous people. The more of a threat they pose, the more hilarious she finds it to see them get hot under the collar.
Despite her party-girl lifestyle, and the numerous "friends" she's accumulated as a result, Caitie rarely lets her guard down completely. Even when she's roaring drunk, the Newark-born teen manages to keep her real feelings pretty well hidden, and if people are lucky enough to catch her in a moment of sincerity, most take it as her being sarcastic in some way. Most people who know Caitie know she's hiding a thing or two, and that just fuels the gossip that follows her around even further.
Beneath it all, though, Caitie is actually a very good friend. She makes sure the people she actually cares about know exactly how much they mean to her, and is extremely protective of the ones she's closest too- particularly her brother. Cait's the sort of person who wouldn't think twice before she defended her bffs, even to the point where it might be classed as interfering.
If you manage to get the girl into a lasting, committed relationship, more power to you. That's an achievement worthy of some sort of award. Since her break up last summer, Caitie's been out with more guys than she'd care to count, and none of them have gotten past the 2nd date stage. The rumour is that she's trying to disguise a broken heart, and the people that saw her last real relationship would agree without question. Although she denies it, Caitie is a hopeless romantic, and once you have her heart, chances are it'll be yours forever.

history All of their lives, Conor and Caitie O'Shea have been caught between two very different parenting styles.Their mom, Isis, has always been the "responsible" one. She's always tried her best to raise the two of them "right", and has spent the past 17 years trying to make sure her kids are well-mannered young people with good grades and a strong work-ethic. Their dad, on the other hand, is a tattooist by trade and is happy as long as they are. He's always told them they can do whatever they want, as long as it's legal and not too dangerous, and most of Caities childhood was spent drawing out tattoo designs with her dad, while her brother made their mom happy by studying hard.
It seems strange to a lot of people that Ciaran and Isis ever got together, because they're so different, but odds are those people have never actually seen the couple together. It's obvious to anyone that they are very much in love, and very much perfect for each other. The same goes for Caitie and her little brother. Their personalities are as different as those of their parents, but they're still best friends. It's hard to put into words just how close they are, but you only have to take one look at them to see that these two would be lost without the other's support.
Shortly after Caitie's tenth birthday, Ciaran and Isis decided it was time for a change of scenery. They'd visited the city of Rutherford a few times in the past, and Isis made no secret of the fact she'd fallen in love with the gorgeous suburbs. Caitie and Conor weren't too please about being uprooted from their home in Newark, New Jersey, but after the move it didn't take long to find their feet. Both of them found their own cliques to hang out with, and as they grew older they spent less time being Caitie and Conor, and more time being separate people.
Cait's friends were all beautiful, or at least she thought so, and it didn't take long for her to start feeling insecure about her own looks. By the time she was 14, Caitie was loosing weight at an alarming pace. She spent a lot of time out of the house to disguise the fact she rarely ate at all fromt her parents, and spent most of her time exercising. One of her friends was getting deeply concerned, so he spoke to Cait's mom and dad about the problem, and they got her the help she needed before it went any further thanks to him.
When Caitie found out how her friend had helped her get better, she realised how much he cared about her, and they got to be very close. This lead to them becoming an official item the next year, which wasn't really much of a surprise. Everyone knew about what Caitlyn had been through, and how he'd helped her overcome it, so to a lot of people it just seemed natural.
The pair loved to go out and get plastered, and they were often seen at the most wild parties. These drunken "adventures", however, are what ultimately lead to the couple's downfall. Last summer, Caitie went to a particularly crazy house party that her boyfriend just couldn't make it to due to some family thing, and the next morning she found herself in bed with another guy. To matters worse, it was his best friend, and Caitie wound up pregnant.
Panicking, she confided in Conor, looking for guidance or support, but he had no more idea what to do than she did. With his encouragement, Caitie eventually came clean, leading to a break up to end all break ups. The stress of it all, combined with the depression of loosing the guy she loved, sent Caitie into a miscarriage. Now, she'd lost her baby too.
The ex and the best friend became priorities on Caitie's "avoid" list, and she launched herself back into her party lifestyle with great gusto, shutting away all of her emotions and focusing on her new mission- to date as many guys as she possibly could before graduation. Hopefully at least one of them had to be "Mr Right".

By the time his mother had paused in her futile screeching, Sirius had already begun barricading his bedroom door shut. If his parents thought he was about to willingly mingle with the scum they'd invited over tonight, they had more issues than he'd realised. He was, of course, already dressed in a smart, dark- grey suit of his mother's choosing, and had (grudgingly) ran a comb through his trademark untamed mane of hair. Breathlessly, he struggled to shift as much furniture as he could across the room to obscure the door. When practically everything he owned had been piled up, Sirius sat down stubbornly in the middle of the now empty room, waiting for his mother's inevitable intrusion.
Sure enough, before long there was a loud bang from the hall as the door swung open by magic, followed by a huge gust of air caused by everything in front of it suddenly leaping back to it's original place.
"Evening, Mum." He said with a small smirk, looking up at the enraged witch standing before him. "You look bloody terrible. Must be too much stress, you should really try to take it easy. Wouldn't want you to just drop dead now, would we?"
"Shut up" Walburga hissed, grabbing her son by the ear and marching him back down to the main hall. "If you embarrass us tonight, Sirius, you'll not be going back to school. Keep that in mind." unconcerned by the little threat, Sirius allowed himself to be steered downstairs and into the vast, lavishly decorated hall. His mother had used the same line on him every single year since he'd started at Hogwarts, blaming the Gryffindor house for her son's mischievous nature, but after five years of hearing it, Sirius was in no doubt that the threat was entirely empty. Pulling him out of Hogwarts would cause a scandal, after all, and there was nothing Walburga Black tried harder to avoid than a scandal.
Half an hour later, and the whole soiree was well under way. Sirius had grudgingly attended the first ten minutes or so of his mother's favourite event of the year, listening with disgust to the idle chit-chat of the few guests who'd arrived first, mostly about how they thought that this "lord voldemort" chap they'd been hearing so much about had the right idea; though each insisted that they personally thought his methods a tad extreme (lies to protect themselves against serving time in Azkaban, of course). Each one of these people seemed to have their own motives, each harbouring personal vendettas against at least half of the room's other inhabitants. The unashamedly brash two-facedness of it all make Sirius sick to his stomach, and before long he'd already slipped away to one of the small studies to hide out until his favourite family member, indeed the only family member he actually liked, Andromeda arrived. She, at least, might be able to make this façade of an evening a little more bearable. Shame her arrival would be diminished somewhat by that of her two less than charming sisters. Sirius despised all his family, but none of them could quite manage to get his blood boiling the way Bellatrix did. Narcissa, he could just about handle, in small doses, but Bella was a whole other level of bitch.
Lost in his usual chain of thought for this particular time of year, Sirius didn't hear Tanith walk in to the little study, and she apparently, had failed to spot him lying in partial shadow on a two-seat leather sofa at the back of the room. It was only the small sigh, as she curled up in despair, that managed to burst through Sirius' mental bubble, jolting him back to his senses. It was the words she then spoke to herself, however, that really caught his attention.
Smirking, Sirius cleared his throat loudly, lazily shifting his position on the sofa to get more comfortable.
"What's so terrible about my company then, Tanith?" he chuckled, as he swung his legs around to sit up properly. "It seemed to me that we were getting along just fine in Hogsmeade."
"Be careful what you say now, you could hurt my feelings." he joked, though part of him was genuinely concerned about the Slytherin's rather sharp tongue. Tanith was possibly one of the few people who stood any kind of chance at showing him up when it came to wit, and Sirius couldn't help but love that about her.[/ul]
